Nagle Catholic College and Curtin University have entered into a partnership that allows for the College to deliver the UniReady Program to Year 12 students.
UniReady is an alternative entry to Curtin University run by the university and facilitated by Nagle staff. Students complete ATAR or General English, Religious Education, and two units per Semester.
Upon completion of the UniReady Program, students are awarded a notional ATAR of 70, which can then be used to satisfy the entry criteria to a range of degrees at Curtin.

Feedback from our current Year 12 students completing UniReady.
UniReady has been the better choice for me in my final year of school. The program has been beneficial in teaching me the basics of university such as referencing, plagiarism, reading strategies and how to write academically in your own style. Not only in Academic Writing have I learnt these things, but my other course has also taught me how to research better for my assessment. The UniReady program being online has allowed me to pursue my sporting opportunities such as state cricket and training and to also travel to Perth to participate in many programs. Without the program, I doubt that this would be viable.

The reason I chose to apply for UniReady is because it was a pathway to get into university and the course is aimed at preparing us for what university life is going to be like. The course gave us crucial information and understanding about everything university and ultimately giving me more opportunities for outside of school life while still allowing me to get the 70 atar I need for my university course I want to do.

I am really enjoying UniReady this year. So far, the only been difficulties with getting used to the format of the course, and the new format of assessments but in the long run these issues are preparing me for the university standard that is expected. The course has been fun so far, I have learnt new things and I have learnt from some of my mistakes, but I am excited to try these new subjects ad continue learning.

At the beginning of Year 11 I decided to follow an ATAR pathway with hopes to go to university some day. However, I discovered that ATAR was too difficult for me and I could not keep up with the amount of study and assignments I was assigned, and overall decided that an ATAR pathway just was not for me. By dropping out of ATAR my immediate thoughts were that I did not have any other way to get into university and doing ATAR was the only choice I had. But when the applications for UniReady were advertised I was eager to apply. Applying for UniReady was, and still is, the best choice I made at my time at high school. I found that it is very beneficial for me as it is a balance between both General and ATAR, so I am able to keep up with the work and assignments and pursue my plans on going to university without doing ATAR and experiencing the stress which comes along with it.

I chose to do UniReady because I do not have much time to do a lot of study at home and handing in assessments was very beneficial for me. So far I have found UniReady very helpful as it has allowed me to learn things at university level that ATAR students have not had the chance to learn yet which will make it easier progressing to university.

I have found UniReady significantly easier than ATAR, and I am now able to spend more energy on extra-curricular commitments that I am passionate about and I also feel less pressure when working on the two ATAR subjects I am still completing. I would recommend the course to any prospective university students as it is a far easier and lighter pathway to the same future as ATAR students.

I chose UniReady because I wanted to graduate high school with something that will allow me to further a career after school and ATAR was not the right fit for me so I wanted something that would not put as much stress or pressure on me. Although UniReady is less pressure and not as stressful as ATAR it is still much harder than I expected. However I am very glad that I chose it as if you put in enough effort you will pass the course and it is worth it.

The reason I chose this course was because it would allow me to pursue my sporting and other interests outside of school whilst still giving me the opportunity to go into university without taking an ATAR pathway. So far it has provide me with these opportunities and I have liked that the responsibility to complete work has been on me, as I feel being independent in both my learning and other things will help me significantly outside of school.
