INSTRUMENTAL PROGRAM

The College offers students the opportunity to learn an instrument through our Instrumental Program. It is a fun and rewarding experience for the students and with lessons conducted throughout the school day on a rotation basis, it reduces impact on after school commitments. Lessons are available for complete beginners to the more advanced students.

To participate in the Instrumental Program, please fill in an Application Form and return to the Front Office. If you would like further information please contact Mr Josh Crothers, our Music Coordinator on 9920 0500.

Please note:
  • Spaces in the Instrumental program are limited and your application does not guarantee a place in the program until confirmed.
  • Music lessons will run for the whole year and students are encouraged to choose the Music (Instrumental) elective when choosing options.
  • Instruments available in 2017 include: flute, clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax, drums (NB: Drum students will need to own their own drum set), guitar, piano/keyboard, trumpet, trombone, violin, baritone and euphonium. Instrument hire (if required) is organised by the school with the company 'Musicorp' and incurs a cost of $250 - $300 per year.
  • We have pre-used school instruments available to purchase at affordable prices. Instruments for sale include flutes and clarinets.
  • Instrumental lessons will be conducted weekly on an individual basis. Weekly lessons give students the right amount of continuity for learning and progressing of an instrument. If this is not financially possible, then fortnightly lessons are available.
  • Instrumental lessons are organised on a rotational basis to avoid missing the same class each week.
  • Cost of lessons: $26 per 25 minute session.
